Suzhou Rail Transit (SRT) has announced operational adjustments to improve passenger travel experience and boost the overall efficiency of the rail transit network. Effective August 6, 2026, timetables for Line 2, Line 3/11, and Line 4 will be optimized, with shortened train headways during multiple time slots and extended evening‑rush‑hour coverage to ease crowding and facilitate commuting and cross-city travel.
The adjustments cover major commuter trunk lines and the Suzhou-Kunshan cross‑city line. Specific changes for each line are as follows:
Line 2:
Extra trains will run towards Sangtiandao on Friday evenings. Between 19:00 and 19:50 every Friday, the headway for trains bound for Sangtiandao will be cut from 7 minutes to 4 minutes. Regular peak-hour intervals as well as the first and last train schedules remain unchanged. The adjustment mainly caters to return‑trip passenger flows on Friday nights.
Lines 3/11 (Suzhou-Kunshan cross-city line):
Departure headways from terminal stations in late evening will be adjusted. For trains departing from Suzhou Xinqu Railway Station after 21:30 and from Huaqiao Station after 20:00, headways will be set at 8-10 minutes. First train departure times and express service schedules remain unchanged, with minor adjustments to last train times along the route. Suzhou Rail Transit reminds passengers travelling between Fengtingdadao Station and Kunshan Culture & Art Center Station after 22:00 to check updated timetables carefully to avoid disruptions to cross‑city trips.
Line 4:
Headways during weekday off-peak hours and weekend peak hours will be shortened, and the evening peak period will be extended by 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Weekday off-peak: train headway shortened from 6 minutes 45 seconds to 6 minutes 35 seconds.
Evening rush hour: operating window extended from 17:00‑19:30 to 17:00‑20:10, with the minimum headway maintained at 5 minutes 30 seconds. After 22:00, trains departing from Longdaobang will run at intervals of approximately 10–12 minutes.
Weekend peak: headway reduced from 5 minutes 15 seconds to 5 minutes.
