On June 30, the Servotronix High-end Transmission System Headquarters, R&D and Manufacturing Base Project officially broke ground in Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone. With a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan, the project is scheduled to be fully completed and put into operation by the end of this year.
Boasting high R&D investment, strong spillover effects within the industrial chain, and promising output value, the project serves as a landmark initiative to strengthen and supplement the high-end equipment manufacturing industry chain in Wujiang District. The project has been advanced with remarkable efficiency, progressing from initial talks to the groundbreaking ceremony in just over 100 days. This demonstrates the solid capability of Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone in innovating diversified investment attraction approaches, delivering full-lifecycle services to enterprises, and making precise strategic moves to seize opportunities in emerging industrial sectors.
The Servotronix project had considered seven sites across the Yangtze River Delta before settling in Wujiang. Following its first talks with Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone, the company quickly elevated Wujiang from a backup option to its top pick.
“What won us over was the government’s high efficiency and sincere commitment, the clustered industrial ecosystem, plus the region’s locational advantages and abundant talent resources,” said a senior executive of the company. He noted that negotiations coincided with the Spring Festival holiday. District leaders held a special work meeting on the first day of the Chinese New Year, and convened talks with company representatives on project implementation one day later. The two sides then maintained frequent exchanges, conducted multiple site visits, and revised plans, sealing the deal within just 20 days.
