The HB World, Huayi Brothers’ first movie-themed park, was opened to the public on July 23. It was announced at the opening ceremony a day ago that, from July 23 to 31, the number of visitors allowed to enter the park will be limited to 20,000 people a day. Wu Qingwen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of the Party Working Committee of SIP, and Jin Jie, deputy mayor of Suzhou, attended the ceremony.
The HB World, with a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan, is located in Suzhou Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort and covers an area of 400 mu (about 266,666 square meters). Based on 7 famous Huayi Brothers movies, the park includes 5 themed areas respectively named “Walk of Fame”, “If You Are the One”, “Assembly”, “Tai Chi” and “The Mystery of the Phantom”, and a parent-child activity area. In the park, visitors can enjoy an immersive entertainment experience.
The park features 34 attractions, 13 of them indoors and 21 outdoors. In addition, it hosts 11 shows and has 7 movie-themed restaurants, 21 cafes and over 40 themed shops. As a cultural tourism project in Suzhou Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourism Resort, the HB World will draw about 3 million tourists per year to the resort. It will help promote the cultural innovation of tourism projects in the resort and in Suzhou Industrial Park, injecting more cultural creativity into local tourism.
The opening hours of the HB World are from 9:00 to 22:00. During the summer vacation, it offers visitors a special “starlit tour” from 16:00 to 22:00 to enjoy the beautiful night view of the park. In the park, visitors can wear costumes and pose for photographs in familiar scenes. In addition, the park will host many exciting activities, such as press conferences for new Huayi Brothers movies, Halloween festivities and Chinese film festivals, trying to create a “dream factory” where tourists can have a great movie tour.
Huayi Brothers’ new release Detective Dee The Four Heavenly Kings held its star-studded premiere in the HB World on the evening of July 22. Director Tsui Hark, together with the leading actors like Mark Chao, Lin Gengxin, Feng Shaofeng and Ma Sichun, made an appearance to promote the upcoming film, which will hit Chinese theaters on July 27.
