A total of 15 roads in the city have been selected as the most beloved tree-lined roads by the public, Suzhou Gardening and Greening Bureau announced yesterday.
As per the national standards for ecological garden cities, tree-lined roads refer to sidewalks and bike lanes with a green coverage rate of over 90 percent. The main tree species planted along such roads in Suzhou include the Oriental plane, Chinese bishop wood, camphor tree, ginkgo, cedar, Japanese zelkova, goldenrain tree, and cherry tree. Each lush tree-lined road requires many years of nurturing.
