The 14th Jiangsu Book Fair kicked off on June 5 at the Suzhou International Expo Center.
This year’s book fair boasts an exhibition area of 25,500 square meters, bringing together more than 400 publishing and distribution units from across the country which put over 80,000 kinds of publications on show. The 5-day book fair will host about 147 reading promotion activities, 16 interactive experience activities, and 13 study tours.
It is worth mentioning that the book fair strives to promote reading among teenagers and children, offering more than 60 reading promotion activities and 13 study tours tailored for young bookworms.
As one of the main exhibition halls of the book fair, the Suzhou Hall is a must-go spot, which is themed on “Inheritance of culture heritage of Suzhou”. In the hall there is a reading space named “Guwuxuan Cultural Space” with distinct Suzhou characteristics, where visitors can watch the exhibition of books and cultural creative products, get an immersive experience of ancient books and participate in interactive activities of intangible cultural heritage. The Suzhou Hall will also host 30 themed activities to promote high-quality reading among people.
During this year’s book fair, a series of livestreaming events will be held, introducing key activities to audiences online. And a number of notable writers such as Cao Wenxuan, Bi Feiyu, Mo Lifeng, Wang Liqun, Ma Boyong, and Ye Zhaoyan, have been invited to give lectures and interact with book lovers at the fair.
