A concert featuring Chinese music pieces was staged at Dongfangzhimen Station of Suzhou Rail Transit (SRT) Line 3. The concert began with the classic piece “Wait for a Thousand Years”, the theme song of a well-known TV series The Legend of White Snake.
Dressed in Hanfu (traditional Han Chinese costume) and adorned in delicate makeup, the performers of the Suzhou Workers’ Art Troupe performed music pieces which are popular among Chinese audiences including the theme song of Chinese-style animation Big Fish & Begonia and that of TV series Nirvana in Fire, presenting an amazing audio-visual feast for Chinese music lovers.
The Chinese music concert was jointly organized by the Suzhou Workers Cultural Palace and Suzhou Rail Transit Co., Ltd. to promote Chinese music and enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the public.
“We hope that this activity can let more people feel the unique charm of Chinese music,” said Zhao Sheng, deputy director of the Culture and Art Department of Suzhou Workers Cultural Palace. The performers are going to give Chinese music performances at Shantangjie Station, Laodonglu Station and Panlilu Station of SRT Line 2 and Lingyanshan Station, Suoshanqiaoxi Station and Aotizhongxin Station of SRT Line 5 on May 19 and May 26, respectively.
