Soochow University takes educational internationalization as one of its important development strategies and has established cooperation relationship with more than 170 universities and colleges worldwide.
Soochow University has been actively engaged in student exchange and joint training with high level universities worldwide through 1+2+1, 2+2, 3+2 and other credit articulation programs. Our major partners of student exchange and joint training include: University of Wisconsin-Madison, The Ohio State University, State University of New York, Binghamton, University of Akron, George Mason University in U.S., University of Waterloo, York University, University of Windsor, Queens University, University of Ottawa in Canada, The University of Manchester, The University of Leeds in U.K., Kanazawa University, Kwansei Gakuin University, Shinshu University in Japan, Ewha Womans University, Sookmyung Womans University in Korea, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and universities in many other countries.
Approved by the Ministry of Education, Soochow University runs four Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Programs, namely: Soochow University—Victoria University(Canada) Cooperative Education Program on Finance, Soochow University—University of Manchester(U.K.) Cooperative Education Program on Textile Engineering, Soochow University—University of Arkansas(U.S.) Cooperative Education Program on Logistics Management, Soochow University—Victoria University (Canada) Cooperative Education Program on New Energy and Devices.
Soochow University is actively involved in international academic and research collaborations. A number of international research platforms have been set up in recent years, including SUN—WIN Joint Institute for Nanotechnology (with University of Waterloo, Canada), The Soochow University—Western University Center for Synchrotron Radiation Research( with University of Western, Canada), CAM–SU GENOMIC RESOURCE CENTER(with Welcome Trust Sanger Institute, U.K.)
Soochow University—Portland State University Joint Confucius Institute, which was established in 2007, was awarded the world’s Excellent Confucius Institute in 2003.
Soochow University is a member university of “China—African Universities 20+20 Cooperation Plan” approved by China’s Ministry of Education.
Soochow University established “Soochow University in Laos” in Vientiane, Lao PDR, which is the first overseas university set up by a Chinese university.
Soochow University, in cooperation with Deajin University, Korea, set up Daejin University China Campus (DUCC) in 2005. DUCC becomes an ideal study abroad centre for Daejin University students.
