Recently, in their summer vacation, the volunteers from School of Art, Soochow University organized a group of pupils and parents of impoverished families and migrant workers’ families to walk into Soochow University. They visited the campus, attended the university commencement ceremony and created theme- based picture books. The activities encouraged the pupils to pursue their university dreams.
In 2017, Dream Public Welfare School was set up by the School of Art, Soochow University, and its branch school was set up in Guoxiang Subdistrict, Wuzhong District, Suzhou. The activities in this summer vacation were organized by the volunteers of the school.
Wang Erdong, the party chief of School of Art, Soochow University said that 8 non-profited training classes, 2 achievement shows and 147 curricular hours for creative painting, handcrafting, pottery, byproduct development classes were held in Dream Public Welfare School last year, involving 323 trainees and over 70 volunteers.
