SIP Hudong Community Working Committee recently held a symposium to discuss and demonstrate the effects of psychological intervention on disposal of complaints lodged by the residents through correspondence, e-mails, faxes, phone calls and visits. The event was aimed at lending related administrative staff a hand in their routine jobs.
At the event, staff from 11 community committees mimicked the most common and frequent complaint cases they encountered in work and shared experience in handling the cases. Several psychological and legal consultants offered professional advice on effective communication and legal issues.
According to the local authority, in view of the good effect shown by a two-year pilot program, the application of psychological intervention into complaint disposal is expected to roll out at 35 community committees this year, and related training, consultancy and assistances in other forms will be offered to help the community staff enhance their ability and skills.
