At the beginning of 2018, Dushu Lake Library decides to continue providing convenience for its readers by further incorporating modern smart technologies into its services.
Over the past few years, the library has built up a smart system that allows its readers to borrow and return books through self-service terminals in the library or their communities.
Last year, the library launched the book borrowing services based on Zhima Credit, a credit rating service provided by Chinese e-business conglomerate Alibaba, allowing people with 600 or more Zhima Credit scores to borrow books on- and off-line without borrower's card or cash pledge.
This year, the library plans to expand its smart services. A smart library with touch screen and face recognition module will soon come into service at Xinghai Life Square, offering more than 3,000 paper books and 2,000 e-publications, which the citizens can borrow and read at any time of a day.
